Dr. Nabil Al-Muthaseb

Dr. Nabil received his medical degree from the prestigious Alexandria University in Alexandria, Egypt, to become a physician, wanting to care for people’s general health issues, in his native country of Jordan.

On completion of his medical training, Dr Nabil practiced as a physician, in his hometown in Jordan for over fifteen years. During his tenure there, he got involved in a study that provided care to children diagnosed with ADHD who also presented with speech and language deficits. Following further testing, which included comprehensive hearing tests, many of these children were found to have undiagnosed hearing loss which was the root cause of all the problems with communication and other aberrations in their functions of daily living. This early experience is what triggered his interest in hearing loss, the science of hearing and the profession of Audiology.

Once in Texas, in the US, Dr Nabil obtained an additional Master’s degree in Audiology from Lamar University Hearing and Speech Center, in Beaumont Texas, and is now a Fellow in the American Academy of Audiology.

From the standpoint of professional experience, Dr Nabil has had a wide range of both clinical and teaching experiences as a clinical professor, providing mentorship during the externship year of the Doctor of Audiology Program. His tenure at the M D Anderson Hospital, of over seven years, remains a major milestone in his career path. Over the years, he has started audiology clinics and served as a Director of Audiology in a few of the hearing care clinics with ENTs as well as an independent. These clinics have been spread over Dallas and other areas near and around Houston.

Dr. Nabil may be one of a few “physician-turned -Audiologist” in the country. His medical training and experience, combined with Audiology, brings a new professional dimension to our practice. He is truly the medical audiologist in every sense of the word and his patients readily recognize and applaud him for his expertise. According to his patients, his bedside manner, his professionalism and the depth of his knowledge are what draw them to him.

Dr. Nabil enjoys spending time with his family here, including two grand kids, in Houston and with his extended family in Jordon.
